Writing a good article requires two things: good content and good technique.
A weak article falls flat. A strong article changes minds, gains readers, carries weight, and demands respect. It’s a worthy and valuable pursuit.
Start by organizing all of your ideas and information. Then spend some time writing a catchy, thoughtful, and accurate article. Finally, give it a good edit to make it look complete and professional.
Whatever type of article you’re writing take the following steps to make sure you create a great article that people will find interesting:
- Select your topic
To find a good topic, think about your audience. For example, if you’re writing a cooking blog, you’ll want to stick to food-related topics. Once you choose a topic, start making it more specific.
Do your findings!
Before you write about any topic, it’s always important to know about the topic. If you don’t know anything about the topic then what will you write on? So you must research your topic and gather all information.
- Use bullet points
Bullet points, or numbered points can make writing an article a lot simpler. The great side benefit is that readers like lists; they are easier for the eye to follow.
- Keep it short
We live in a world where most people have an attention span of only a few seconds. Try to keep it under 500 words, but chockfull of information. Make every word count. In general, shorten everything. Short paragraphs are tantalizing.
After you’ve completed writing your article, go through it at least thrice. Make the necessary changes if required. Make sure you are satisfied with your article.
